In Germany, this would be poaching - when you hit a deer with your car, you are legally obligated to inform the hunter of that district (or the police) - the deer is his property. If you want it "back", you have to pay for it (plus the damage on your car of course) :-|
BTW I noticed you used "kilos", not lbs - gone metric? ;-)

COMMUNITY

Not going metric - but they do have us learn it here(IMO, it's good for measuring some things like electricity and chemistry, sucks for many physical measurements, particularly smaller measurements needed for many machining activities). In the USA a dead deer on the side of the road is "roadkill" - no public entity picks them up, so they just lay there and rot if nobody grabs them up right away. In this area it is considered public service to dispose of them(so is the killing to many people). Technically you are supposed to have a license to kill deer. THere are exceptions: farmers(I live on land zoned/declared "small farm" can kill wild animals at at any time, if they are damaging one's crops. "Honestly officer, I chased this deer from my property where he was chewing on my apple trees." If I really was inclined I would go hunt on another piece of property I own that is heavily wooded and has a nice pond that draws the deer in.

[From Michigan State Web site]"October and November are the two highest months for car-deer accidents. There are well over 60,000 such accidents each year in Michigan, costing at least $130 million annually. That averages about $2100 per vehicle. In 2007, 11 people were killed and 1614 people were injured."

Yep, like 200-400 lb.(that would be 83-166kg.)of ignorant animal that runs out in front of your car in a heartbeat. Squirrels and rabbits show more intelligence than deer. :x

Squirrels and rabbits show more intelligence than deer.

And are much more forgiving if you hit one. I almost hit a squirrel on my motorcycle coming into work this morning. The car behind me got him.
What would have happened if I hit the squirrel? Nada!
What if I hit a dear on my motorcycle...... I'd be 6 feet under.

Oh yeah, you'd be dead as all. Figure the deer has almost a meter of thin legs, so all the weight is centered around 1.5 meters(or yards....a yard being 3 feet) off the ground. You'd be knocked off the bike and probably have your neck broken instantly. Enough of this horrorback to the word association(funny how this has been such a popular little item).
