What is your best catch?

Post23 Apr 2007, 14:02

Hi,

Someone was telling me the story of guy who found an HP 01 in box with paper for 150$.

I wonder what is your best catch in buying digital watches?

A gold P1 for 3$ in a flea market?

I'll begin by my story , recently I bought this quartz segtronic (optel module not dsm but still...) in a lot of trash for 35 €.Put a battery and it works perfectly!

Big Hamilton(same module as a P3), G.F. in box - absolutely f'n MINT AS NEW,in box for $50 from a guy at a little jewelry store in a small town where I had got off the highway to use the "loo". And then the guy askes me if I want a bag(13 pieces) of various models that had been left for repair years ago - free. Nothing pretty but 5 or 6 modules I got working with a quartz replacement. Tthe lady who sold me 15 Pulsar boxes for $10 a piece from a similar small, old store was pretty killer too. 8)

We should use the loo more often on the side roads!

here in France , it is very hard to find any led watch , i think in the seventies the $ was very high compare to the franc and maybe people weren't ready to wear Space watches , anyway , I often go on flea markets but I found only 1 in my all life in France!
I hope one day I'll find a LIP led , that maybe the best I can find!
Pulsar and Hamiltons weren't sold because OMEGA had the european market (same company at that time)and the OMEGA LED were very expensive and still are...

30 USD for a Pulsar P3 GF and Executive GF.
Or the non working Synch (+ 5 or 6 other working leds) for 35 USD.

Found a pink Spaceman Direct Time Automatic...100 USD!

.....a mint Derby Swissonic for 100 USD is a fair price also.

I'am afraid I've not picked up anything as special as a Pulsar etc, this is my best buy...

Pink's not my colour, but $100  for a watch this rare, that's amazing. Think that seller sold a mint version for nearly 2k.

My best is a mint Catena spacesonic for $35, and a boxed (both boxes and papers) near mint SS wittanuer polara LED for $65. I thought that was good, till I saw everyone elses bargain buys :)
The other day, my computer beat me at chess. It was rubbish at kick boxing though.

Ebay of course! I have gotten lucky a few times and stumbled upon nice LED watches with reasonable BIN prices right as they are posted...

I ended up re-selling both of these (got over $900 each  ).

well, the American market can in no way be compared to Europe where the LED population was never high.
my best buys:
SS P2 MIB for 60$ - auction cancelled and bought it offline from a zero feedback bidder - the risk was worth it
SS P3 for 50$ (working) I was the only one that placed a bid (!?)
SS P4 Exec BIN for 100$ (working)
SS Bulova Bigblock for 40$ (working)
from non-digitals:
Wittnauer Futurama jumphour for 150$ - needs some TLC and will sell for 700$ easily
