Nixie help please.

Post09 Jul 2007, 13:20

Chums, whilst carrying out important test flights on my new RC helicopter (in my lounge), I had something of an aviation accident and my Nixie clock suffered severe damage to two tubes, I need to match these up to save me having to replace all six, there is no name or markings on these, can anyone please help identify the type? Anyone got any of these stuffed away please? I need identicals.
Digit height is approx 1.3cm, total height of glass, with knobbly bit is 4.7cm

Does the tubes on your clock show a proper 5 or an upside down 2, they look very much like IN-8-2 nixies to me.

Here's a couple of pics of my IN-8-2 nixie clock's tubes for comparison...

Hey thanks fellas, thats good of you Klippie, they do look very similar to mine, thanks for the help in identifying them. I will buy six matching ones from somewhere though because if I get two from you (a very kind offer) then they may not be the same colour temp or brightness or shape.

Hang the expense !!

Cheers

Phil

BTW: I didnt get the controls mixed up Likky, I took off without trimming the controls first. Never play with your chopper indoors!!
