Electric mechanical watch repair

Post22 Oct 2007, 13:39

I know - wrong forum but I don't know where else to try - sorry. But does anyone know of someone reliable and skilled who repairs old electric watches (not quartz but battery powered mechanicals). I've got a kienzle swissonic like the one in the link below (fantastic web site by the way) that I'd really like to get running.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

: Electric mechanical watch repair

Post26 Dec 2007, 21:18

hey,

I repair a lot of mechanical watches, some electrics but haven't tried the Hamilton yet nor this particular Swiss ESA movement.

the website mentioned is excellent and the owner seems to be an expert in electrics having been given many hints from Rene Rondeau himself.

the watch you are showing contains a very popular ESA Dynotron movement - the first electric transistored movement - called electronic ;)
you can buy a watch (movement) for 10$ so if you don't have the time to repair just buy another watch usually called Swissonic. that's the ESA brand used for their transistored watches.
(search for Elgin Swissonic, Benrus, and many, many more)
