Watch Display at National Conference

Post01 Sep 2008, 18:38

The topic of the 2008 Ward Francillion Time Symposium this year is "Electric Horology" - the early efforts to make electric clocks. This is annual reserach based conference of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (USA).

http://www.electricclocks2008.com/index.htm

The conferenc is October 23 to 25 in Springfield, Illinois (USA).

I will have a display of the best and most interesting selection of my solar watch collection at the Symposium - digital and analog. I look forward to seeing any DWF members there.

I'd be great if you could take some pictures and post them on the forum.

(Sounds like an ideal day out for me - unfortunately a bit out of the way :-( )

Yes, pictures would be most appreciated.
I'd love to attend myself but even though I'm on the same continent I'm still quite a distance away. :-(
But Illinois is next door to Michigan -maybe Ed can go!

LOL! Some do... but with a toddler at home and another baby due in a few months I have to prioritize my spending these days.
I'll have to settle for the photos in this case.

Sorry, the guy who does my website where all my pictures are stored has found more meaningful employment so I can not post pictures at the moment on this site.

You can check out my site www.soluhr.com to see most of the watches I am taking to display - a couple of Synchronars, the Nepro, a Uranus, first LED solar by Cristonic, first solar analog by Citizen, solar Movado Museum Watch, solar Swiss Railroad Mondaine watch, first solar radio controled watch by Junghans, the two Sicura solar watches (digital and analog) and the most unattractive solar watch, the "Butterfly" Citizen analog digital.

Wish me luck. I am not sure how well "watch" people mix with "clock" people.
