Magnet Set Modules - Who Used 'Em Besides Pulsar?

Post23 Oct 2009, 06:59

Hi.

I noticed on eBay that there is a Mercury LED watch that uses a magnet set module:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Mercury-Time-LED-Wa ... 35a45e3ccf

So, I was curious, who used 'em? So far the list looks like this:
1) Pulsar
2) Hamilton
3) Omega
4) Sears
5) Mercury

Any others?

On another post, a DWF user wrote that these magnet set modules were made by Sanyo and also that the the P4 modules were made by Sanyo for Pulsar. Anyone know the scoop on this? In particular, I was wondering if these Sanyo modules could be adapted to a P4.

Thanks 1.0e6,

-abe.

To my knowledge, Sanyo made magnet-set modules for Mercury and Sears [all identical]. Their internal construction, however, is very different from the ones Time Computer built [but they do, strangely enough, use the same setting magnet as the Dress, Ladies' Pulsar, and P4]. No P4 modules were ever made by Sanyo; those all came off of Time Computer assembly lines. The only Sanyo-TC connection is the display for the Emerald Green Dress watch; the rest of the module is pure Time Computer [those same green displays also showed up in 2 rare CompuChron models [and maybe the Sears; I have never had the chance to directly inspect and compare them, but I suspect they are Sanyo, also].
