Obviously not a choice in all locales.

I loved the "splat on the back of the SUV story"(above) - I feel about half the car/bike collisions are the car driver's fault, other half biker's fault. I have a motorcycle related export business(shipping vintage bikes to Europe), but rarely ride one myself. I trust myself to not drive like an idiot but the cars scare me in a city environment.

First car was a 1979 Ford Escort mk2 1.3L I loved that car to bits then I realised Ford stood for "F..ked Or Repaired Daily" I'll never have another one, VW's for the last 22 years... :-D

I love bikes too I run a Honda 500 twin to work most days and a Triumph Daytona 675 for when the sun shines, which is not too often in Scotland I can tell you... :-(

Wow - so many bike rider here. I would have never gussed - and Bruce too! :o
I have two bikes and commute daily to work (none of the 2k mi a year stuff for me :-D ). I ride a Honda Magna and a Honda Gold Wing. But - unlike that organ donor Jeff related to us, i do't ride like a nut case. I live in L.A. - there are plenty of nutjobs on the road already. We don't need another one!

LOL! Yes it is. But I commute about 60 miles a day, all but 3 miles of it freeway, so the bike is in it's element. Stereo, cruise control, adjustable air suspension.... I can't complain. :-)

Honestly - that is what I used to say until I rode one. ;-)
But I still kept my Magna - it has plenty of power for us 'non-organ-donor' type riders.

Plus - the Wing has a dashboard that any true digital watch aficionado would love..... :-)
