Pulsar With Cheesy Message Added!

Post20 Apr 2011, 17:12

I thought it might be fun to have a Pulsar message watch, thanks to Hanno at 'strikesandspares' for doing all the clever work.

The display is activated when the time and date commands are pressed simultaneously.

The message is cheesy but it's the best I could come up with, the available letters are limited due to it being a numeric display (unlike the Hughes) so no K, J, M, G, Q, R, T, V, W, X, Y, or Z could be used and the words are limited to 3 letters or 4 letters if they start with the letter I (due to the first digit being hour display only.)

The format might be good to personalise a watch as a birthday gift i.e. DOB 28.04.1967.

Just to amend my initial post a lower case style y would be OK and maybe a lower case style t would also look OK.

Sorry too many letters, you will have to invest in a Hughes programmable message module which allows 5 words of up to 5 letters to make those messages ;-) I imagine a watch with a mute button that works on kids and wives would sell extremely well but I don't think Hanno would be able to program that onto the chip

My wife read the message as "A 1974 LED Fifteen Fun And Fab"

At the moment I believe "fanny" could be a spam robot. But its goal isn't clear - no advertising, no links; practicing maybe?

Hey fanny, if you read this: please respond, tell us you're a real person, and maybe what is your favourite watch :-)
