Mixed feelings

Post16 Dec 2011, 18:17

Hi to you all

I would like to know how you deal with the fact .That wearing nice watches makes you feel "nervous" .On one hand i like to show them off on the other i am affraid to scratch them or even to damage them .
When a pieces is over 30 years old it is like an old bottle of wine .It is better provided that you don't mishandle it ,and its only good as vinegar .
So how to cope with the desire of wearing here and there .In one word enjoy what you have .Or just have it sit on display in some room ?
My only solution would be to have doubles ! . If i buy an Uranus calculator watch should i wear it? . I would be affraid to scratch a GP casquette .. I don't have those watches and i am already apprehensive.
Sorry to waste your time! ~:(

I say wear them, enjoy them and give others the chance to appreciate them, just exercise a little care with anything considered precious.

I second bucko. Wear them (with care). Even the GP.

I think you can learn to wear watches carefully and not inflict any substantial damage - it just requires being a little bit more mindful of where your wrists are.

I wear all of mine (except the non-working P1) and have yet to cause any marks that couldn't be fixed with a swipe or two of a brushing pad or polishing cloth (knock on wood). The brushed surfaces of most Pulsars is very forgiving of light wear.

I think the best solution is to have a couple of nice but not perfect "daily wear" watches and to save the GPs etc. for special occasions.
