A sad thread, but full of interesting pictures I'd say. It's incredible to see how battery acids can destroy a working module. That Elgin LCD is also in a very sorry state, I wonder what happened to fry the screen in that way, looks like it's been burned down. :eek:

unknown module, you can see the crack that goes through the second digit from the left, and weird green crud everywhere.

Non working Collins module, no idea what's the problem, but those unprotected wirebonds look not allright...
Even the digits have a tiny factory number :)
