Quick summary:
cobra007 presents the Apple Eye Watch, Kaper has created a flashy way to tell time: Flash/Time Pendant Watch, I "Benrus" inspired by my sons "Kids Meal" from Wendy's Fast Food chain recycled a milk jug top: Got Time, Last I present my wife's entry: Running Late (the module actually runs slow)
I was hoping for more entries, but times up.
14 days from today's date 1/1/13 and we shall see who's the winner...HAVE FUN!

THE PRIZES!!! 8-)
Its not much, but it's what I have to offer.
1st prize winner picks first, then 2nd, and 3rd gets the last one.
PRIZES.JPG

The MARCEL is used, and working.
The CompuChron is just a NOS case, not a working watch.
The SAVANT is working, but T3 backlight no longer works.

What to do:
You take a working LCD. or LED module out of existing watch...Then, you make what the module is going in (wristwatch, pocket-watch, pendant-watch). That's it! Be creative ;-) This is not a "Create a module" competition.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not looking for production models. Just make a watch that may not survive everyday wear based off design, but has the feel of your own creation...not a copied favourite design of an existing model.

For those who have created unveiled creations already as far as finished product, We would ask that they at least create something new so its considered a brand new entry.

We will have an "End of Year" unveiling so we all have some time to create a decent entry (or based off ones skills...Press a module into some Play-Dough on your wrist, and take a picture, it's that easy!).

Keep our ideas, and thoughts to self so no one has the upper hand. When your watch is finished, submit your entry before New Years by PM to me, and on New Years Eve...We will have a poll up that will run for 24hr.

There will be more the one prize (1st, 2nd, 3rd), so don't be discouraged by greater competition... We all get to vote 8-)
Actual prizes will be unveiled here before December ;-)

Most all of us have , or can obtain a module of sorts, so let the build-off begin!

Gather up some junk parts

Bearing in mind some members also own a classic car I have often thought that it would be cool to incorporate a LED drivers watch into a diecast model car, with the display showing through the windscreen of the model or even under the bonnet made to display when the bonnet is flipped open as per the Benrus Pop-Up! The command button operating off a toggle of the wing mirrors or a press of the tail lights.

I was thinking that a diecast model could be purchased to match the actual car owned and secured to the dashboard thus incorporating two hobbies into one!

I would not have the faintest idea on how to complete this task but maybe it could be done by others.

For instance if you are lucky enough to own a Jaguar XJ-S the two items below could be merged together, with the colour of LED display and model car, purchased to preference.

Just my mad idea of the month

Just a thought.. a poll that runs for 24 hours on here could potentially end with 3 or 4 votes, especially at this time of year when everyone's busy with family etc.

As long as all official entries are submitted before the 1st so I can set up a poll with the pictures.

What a pity, I completely missed this competition post! That's ok, I wouldn't have finished before 1st of January anyways....

I really look forward to your designs! I saw Kasper is very creative, but you need to change the sticker every minute, set a second watch so that you don't forget about that haha :-)

If I come up with a very quick idea within the next few weeks, I still enter the draw!! I have a nice idea but need at least another 2 months to make that work....

Don't know as if it should be included in the voting, but maybe next year we should have a FANTASY class?
Let me know 8-)

The Nixie Wittnauer looks good - if only they made the Nixie tubes that small, it might of opened up a whole new genre of watches.

Only one vote between the top two, it's going to be close, there might even be a late run on the other two ~:(

Haha, that is cool and for $145 I'd like one too :-D

The nixie tubes can unfortunately not be made this small because they simply would not work anymore. However, suppose they could have been made, this watch would probably be the most wanted digital watch ever!
