BLOOMBERG BUSINESS WEEK WORLDS MOST EXPENSIVE WATCHES

Post03 Feb 2013, 09:09

Hi all,

As a U.S cirizen I often brouse the BLOOMBERG BUSINESS WEEK, it is based out of the U.S. Yesterday while searching I came accross an article in the above magazine titled worlds most expensive watches. To look at it just Google BLOOMBERG BUSINES WEEK, WORLDS MOST EXPENSIVE WATCHES. Truly amazing the watches range from $90.000 U.S. to in excess of $5 MILLION.

Check it out, sure makes you feel poor to think that there are people out there with this kind of money, makes my collection look puny and cheep. Guess I am just going to have to win the Euromillions.

What are your views :?:
Regards,
KARNAK.

I have a bunch of inexpensive seiko's and casio's ,and i couldn't be happier with them. :-D
I don't need 300.000 or million dollar watches to enjoy my collection ;-)

I feel like Seiko@Casio Lcd's on this subject.

I've seen some expensive watches, but in my opinion it's sort of cheating if you just encrust the bezel with diamonds or make the watch out of platinum in order to drive up the price. My watches are expensive at least to me because of the technology involved, not the precious minerals or metals involved, or because it has a certain name on it.

I agree with you on this, what i like the most is the technology, the seiko 0624 for instance was one of the first commercially available lcd watches in 1974 ,and a very new technology then.
I like these watches because of this fact.

I agree. Status watches are boring, ugly, crass, and pointless. To be interesting, a watch needs at least two out of three:
(1) pleasing aesthetics
(2) historical significance
(3) innovative engineering

Status watches have none of these going for them.

I expect that digital watch freaks, like any other subculture, have their own peculiar form of elitism and snobbery.

Are we not watch snobs also? :)
