Early swiss lcd wathes better then Seiko/Casio?

Post26 Nov 2014, 16:08

After collecting for years, i must admit that all early swiss lcd watches are as good, maybe better then the early Seiko's and casio's. They use a better background reflector and have a more evenly spread and brighter light.

What do you all think? Are early esa modules better then the seiko/casio of the same time?

I guess an example of where the ESA module was found lacking would be the ESA 900.231 which was used in watches such as the first gen of Breitling Ana Digi Navitimers (the Jupiter and Pluton models). These seem to have had a very high failure rate and were succeeded by the Miyota Y652 Japanese movement, many working examples of which still exist unlike the former. This was from the very early 80s though and you might have only the 70s in mind
