40th Anniversary of Pulsar watch

Post07 May 2010, 02:16

Today, May 6th, 2010, marks the 40-year anniversary of the announcement by HMW of the Pulsar watch, and the beginning of the Digital Age of timekeeping. Almost 23 months later (April 4, 1972), The Pulsar Limited Edition goes on sale to the public, kicking the digital revolution into high gear, and the world would never be the same; now, more than 250 million digital watches are produced each year. The LED era lasted a mere six years, but its' importance as a groundbreaking technology will always ensure it a place of great importance in timekeeping history.

I just goes to show the technology Pulsar used was very sound all those years ago that so many original Pulsar LED's are still working today and hopefully with proper care they may live on for future generations of LED lovers to enjoy.
