My P2 has a 3013 module. Is it all original?

Post12 Oct 2012, 21:29

Hi guys, todays' been the second time that I have replaced the old batteries from my Pulsar P2 (a pair of Rayovac 357, which I've replaced with two Sony SR44W, which I've heard they're highly recommended for LED watches, together with the Renata 357, of course. Hopefully they should last longer than the Rayovac, since these ones are 180 mAh batteries), and when I've opened the watch, I've noticed that the module has the "Pulsar 3013" sticker on it.

"My P2 has a P3 module!" I said to myself.

I've tried to put the magnet close to the position where the date reed switch is on the P3, but I got no date. I suppose the date reed switch is missing.

Since I've never seen a P2 fitted with a 3013 module, I've got a question for the Pulsar experts: were the last-gen P2 fitted with 3013 modules?
I know that the P2 adopted during its life a new module derived from the P3, but judging from the pictures of the modules I've seen on the internet, they always have the "Pulsar" sticker on them, rather than the "Pulsar 3013" one.

Perhaps they just fitted a P2 module on a P3 carrier? Or maybe the module of my P2 got replaced by another one during its life?
Consider that my P2 is from 1974, and according to what Bruce said some time ago, it was the last year of production of that model.

Please forgive me if the question seems stupid. It's something that I have never noticed before this morning. :-)
