Can I create a hybrid P4 module myself? Or just for experts

Post13 Nov 2008, 06:14

Is there a "doable" way that I could replace my P$ module with a non-Pulsar/Hamilton module from from a more readily available/new donor?

Doable such that someone with average dexterity, typical small tools and skills could attempt it?

Or is this best left to the seemingly one expert out there?

Best Regards, Glenn

Glenn:
Actually, there are at least a good handful of people who could do it. The problem for your first attempt, is that a P4 is fairly small, so you need a replacement module that will not interfer with the original module laying flat -assuming you want to use the original module "chassis" for position of the magnetic reed switches and for holding the batteries. If you break the reed switches(glass tubes with a wire coming from each end), you will need replacements. A P2 or P3 is much more doable for a first attempt.
