Help on case sizes?

Post26 Mar 2010, 01:58

Hello All,
Is there a data or reference section somewhere that has the case sizes of most Hamilton, Pulsar, and Omega Led models?
I have found lots of pictures and they really help but I need to know the size to know if i'll like it on my wrist.

Those numbers, even if you can assemble them, will still not tell you the whole story. You've got to look at the overall styling, and most important, how it looks and feels when you wrap it around your wrist. I don't think this is something you can do by the numbers... ;-)

Bruce is right about the dimensions not being the only factor - overall thickness or even the degree to which the bezel or crystal protrude can dramatically change how someone feels about a piece on their wrist. And weight is a factor too: I know there are many watches I love but the weight of them on my wrist bothers me. I had once thought about making a nice outline of some classic piece that could be superimposed over items I have for sale on my site....then I realized I would have to adjust each picture so each item was shown at correct relational size(way too much work) and the buyer would have to be familiar with my choosen "classic" for it to make any sense at all. If you see a piece you like, ask the seller for dimensions or tell yourself you will sell it off if you don't like it's size. Watches should be bought with your "discretionary funds" so that concept isn't too egregious - every interest has a price.

All good points but size is the one that pictures don't tell me. Since buying vintage LED watches usually means buying online without being able to test wear it. I like wider cases and wider bands, about 40mm is what I consider perfect for my tastes. I daily wear a Junghans Mega 1000 and love the size and heft of it. I recently bought a Hamilton QED and love it too but it just feels small to me and I'm hoping to find something similar in shape/ style but a little larger in width.
