"Like" Digital Watches / Facebook Poll

Post03 Jul 2012, 08:20

Hey,

Last night, as a little experiment, I added a Facebook "Like" button to each of the watch pages on my watch site (http://www.timetrafficker.com/watches/led/index.html ) and the results so far are kind of surprising. In the past 24 hours, the Pulsar P1 has racked up 19 "likes" and it looks like the next runner up is the Pulsar p2 with just 2. The P1 is a lovely watch, but that seems a little skewed to me!

So, anyway, I was thinking I'll talley up the results and report back the results in one month at the end of July.

I must admit, i never use facebook so never use the 'like' button.
I always thought that facebook was for kids and middle age woman with to much time on there hands. :-D

ok let me take my wand and look into my glass ball. I predict that the biggest watches will win. So the ones with the most red surface :-D
Keep us updated, Abe.

Kasper,

Yes, it did occur to me that the digital watch demographic and the Facebook demographic are not exactly overlapping.

I've noticed that a lot of watch enthusiast web sites are a little "old school" compared to other antique, collecting, and retro fashion oriented web sites. I have a group of 30 and 40 something friends that are absolute fanatics about a Facebook page called "Retro Rehab" that sells vintage furniture. Sites like Pinterest have a user base that is strongly into fashion and vintage items. So, why not vintage wristwatches?

The number of visitors in most of the wristwatch enthusiast sites seems to be on a generally downward trend and I was sort of wondering If tools like Facebook, Pinterest, etc. were used to showcase vintage watches, would there be more interest in the world at large? I have no idea - it's hard to say.

-abe.

p.s. I couldn't resist taking some liberties with the Facebook "like" icon:

Napnap :-D ...if i would believe everything a company wrote, i never lost so much money at the stockmarket

strange..i'm a really sophisticated guy, have networked my whole home myself, fucked the digital cable guy cause he wanted to rip me off with so called digital television as my sat disk is so much better. Started with a spectrum and a sneider pc ..then the whole amiga commodore range and the windows etc range. I'm working at home so spending whole day surfing the net...and working also somethimes :-D
All my friends and some are computernerds have a facebook account but nobody is using it actif. The only raison i have an account was because i found a identity card lying on the ground coming home from a concert and i found the womans name on google..yes it was a facebookaccount so i had to register to leave her a note.

Even Olympus (digital camera's) was doing so well..selling more and more camera's every month..till..you've read the story.

so sorry, as i'm a critical guy, but i don't believe a SH*T about those numbers.

These days, lobbying and desinformation is elivated to an artform.

btw do you own an Apple product? I suddenly saw a vision of Steve walking on stage. :-D
