I remember some time ago when it was popular to swap non Pulsar modules into a Pulsar carrier, Somehow it came to a halt for some reason.
One time here in the Forum I read that Ladies Sanyos were some of the easier to swap, It stick to my mind. I started buying this watches whenever I could get them for a good price, I ended up with six for less than 60 dollars total. Yesterday I had some free time and came up with this. It works flawlessly, just like a pulsar, same size digits and Sanyo bright.

Wow! What a great idea. For collectors and purists this is heresy. However, if you just want a Pulsar for an every day beater this looks like the ticket. Since that is what I have in mind, could you be more specific as to how to put one of these projects toegher? For example, just exactally which Sayno module is needed? I only know enough about Pulsars to be dangerous and nothing about Sayno. Thanks

There are few options when you play roulette on E-bay buying from sellers that can't open the back or don't have the right battery, sounds familiar Yes , you end up with quite a few non workers on the early days. The ladies Compuchron with the Sanyo module, Also Sears Ladies Phasar 2000, Chronosinic 100 and many others is the same watch with large digits with the setting pushers on the caseback and comes on a rubber carrier, this is the easiest to swap on my opinion Setting is the same than Pulsar with the command buttons on the same side. You only need to wire the contacts on the module to the magnetic reeds on the Pulsar carrier and run power, is that easy.
I stick a small strip of tape to cover the Neg bare wire on the carrier and glued with silicon. it takes less than an hour. There is not substitution for the real thing, Nothing compares to the dot display of a genuine Pulsar but this way you can have a daily wearer to save your Pristine 'watches.

Sanyo's are easiest to work on I fully agree but if you have a spare Frontier ladies module fitted to Gruen and Hamilton you might be lucky to apply it correctly on a Pulsar carrier. These modules have the proper dot-display identical to Pulsars.
You might even give it a try with a mens Frontier module although it's a tight fit.
