25mm Hughes Modules

Post11 Sep 2014, 04:53

Hi.

I'm looking for a 25mm Hughes module for a Concorde LED watch. If anyone has one for sale or has a list of suitable donor watches that use the 25mm, that would be swell. I'm aware of the later model CompuChrons, the Accurist and the Beltime, but these are each a bit uncommon. It seems that some of the ladies LED watches such as the CompuChrons would also use the Hughes 25mm. Anyone know if that's the case?

Thanks,

-abe.

The position of the command & set contacts is pretty unique to the Hughes 25mm module so the easiest thing to do would be to keep an eye out for watches with the corresponding button configuration and then ask the seller for further clarification or photo's to confirm as required.

I can also add these to your list.. .. ..

Mick,

Thanks for the advice. A couple of those later model LEDs are pretty nifty - those Zodiacs and the Austin are nice, basic, well made and attractive stainless watches.

I had a minty Austin but sold it because it was a bit too small for my tastes so I never wore it (probably should have kept it). The Concord is on the small side also but sort of makes up for it with the beefy machined stainless bracelet, so I think I'll probably wear it if I can find a module for it.

Cheers,

Hi Abe,

I did replacement modules for the Hughes 25mm module - the SASM57. Not sure if you are interested. Moreover most of the National Semiconductor and Fairchild modules (SASM45-49) are now covered, too. I even did the "lets fuck" message modules :)

Hanno,

Wow, that's amazing that you've covered all of these modules - I had no idea. The Fairchild ones in particular seem almost impossible to come by in working condition. Those 25mm modules must be tricky with so little space available.

p.s. I ended up getting an old ladies Compuchron for a 25mm Hughes but I'll keep that in mind since I need to get a couple of P3 modules one of these days.
