Pulsar Pulse/Time

Post05 May 2017, 04:12

I have seen several Pulse/Time come across for sale that don't work. I was wondering if the pulse function goes out, does that mean the time function will go out as well ? I wonder if you could have the time function work with the pulse function working or is the circuit all connected to where it is all or nothing ? I know Bruce owns probably a few and has studied the modules, so Bruce can you please chime in and give me an answer or anyone else familiar with this watch ? Thanks.

As far as I've seen, it is possible to have the time/date functions operate perfectly, even if the pulse function is not working.

Electronically, the two functions are completely separate from one another. However, the Pulse electronics are evidently far more complex, and thus more prone to failure, than the clock chip. We see the same phenomenon with the Calculator models, where, nine times out of ten, it is the calculator section that is not working.
