P1 on e-bay with diamonds on front

Post10 Jan 2018, 13:52

What is the story with the p1 listed on eBay that has all the diamonds on the front ? There is a good photo of the serial number. Custom made by owner or perhaps by Pulsar ? Good opening price.

It’s very sad to see a P1 butchered like that :-( not just the diamonds but the deep brushing they’ve done to the sides of the case and bracelet links etc

The P1 is definitively not for me because, It’s beyond my means
But I more interesting about an Pulsar men’s sport touch command, it’s an taste of P1 but financially accessible and with a newer module.

Not too sure what the story behind the watch is, but I doubt Pulsar would manufacture something like this themselves.
I've been after a P1 for so long now, that I'm going to have a go at this one, albeit quite possibly the ugliest watch I'll own (and I have some crackers).
Please let me win it    :-D :-D

Well, somebody wanted it bad enough to bump their own bid at the end. At US$5350, between the value of the gold, and the diamonds, this one isn't safe from the melting pot, especially if gold keeps going up. This could possibly have been restored to some reasonably close approximation to originality, but it would have cost, as they say, a packet (probably a couple thousand dollars).
Other than the tasteless alterations, the only point of interest here is that this was a "new" P1...number 206 has never appeared on the market before, so I assume this was a "find" in a safe-deposit box as part of an estate...the first addition to the P1 roster in well over a year, (and no, I wasn't the buyer!).

I bumped my bid at the end, purely because I wasn't prepared to stay awake until 4:30am M:)W:)M

Anyway, someone beat me, and probably for the best. The search continues :fool:
