Anybody see THIS?

Post15 Mar 2021, 12:15

Ebay item number 233891268928 Asking price US$6650 (just about the "melt" value). Serial no. 8117. Beautiful cosmetic condition, but not working (as if, in this case, that matters at all...). Original asking price was US$11.5K, then dropped almost $5K overnight. The scrap-gold buyers were circling like vultures.

BLOWOUT!! Will melt next week!

LIMITED EDITION OF 100 PIECES MADE FOR TIFFANY & CO WITH A RETAIL PRICE OF $3950,

Case: Width approx. 41mm, mineralite crystal display, signed Pulsar / Time Computer Inc. USA

The watch is NOT running now.

Somebody should tell Uli about this...he's about two times+ too high on his. I would be really curious to know how many of these are actually out there...I know of two for certain (Uli's and this one), and possibly a third, but that's it. Vastly rarer than a P1 (50), Classic Calculator (30), or even a 7725 (8) or 3140 (7). I find it difficult to believe that the entire Pulsar collector community was willing to sit by and let this go into the crucible (and, believe me, the seller meant it...he's an estate and precious metals buyer, and this held no particular significance for him, beyond being 18K gold). These are the kind of economic times that force things like this out of hiding...and clearly, they are not always found by the right person.

I was very temped to bid. But with 20 % import duty and finding a working module, plus low funds in these tough covid times. I had to resist. I've owned one and know of 3 others.
I'm holding out for the regular18k Swiss Euro. Its one watch that has eluded me over the last 23 years. Bruce you want to trade one of your 18k 1822-2 for my 18k Calculator pocked ?
