Omega 1603 pusher part #

Post27 Mar 2012, 22:06

Got myself a SS Omega 1603 in need of a new pusher... That's a tough one... To have any hopes of ever finding one, I would probably need the part number.

Anyone know where to find any referenced part numbers for this one?

Hi,

Congratulations on your purchase - any chance of a picture?. I'll try and find the part number but in the meantime have you tried Ed at Retroleds or Peter at Magical Digitals - they may have the part you need.

Edit - have a look at this website - they may have the part you need - try emailing them with the full watch details - http://www.ofrei.com/ClockPartsAndSupplies.html

Thanks a lot for the tip. I didn't find anything useful with a quick look, but I'll probably contact him.

I got some photos uploaded here:

It sure does need some TLC, but also a button and new timescreen. ...and a couple of links to make it fit my fat wrist...

Hello JHH

pm me, i have spare pushers for my Omega Albatross and they may fit. Can you post the inner diameter of the tube plus the inner diameter of the recess for the pusher top.

I can mail you a couple. Do you or anyone know if they are secured by threaded screws or a circlip similar to Seikos.

Cheers, Geoff

I've replaced a pusher on the LCD version and they're a press fit. The brass pin is inserted from the inside, and the button (and spring if I remember rightly) fits on from the outside. The brass pin then mates into the button if enough force is applied. I think I put a piece of wood into the watchcase and pushed the button hard to mate it.................there's probably a tool to do it properly though ;-)

The are special tools to remove and insert pushers but are quite expensive.
The scenario you have described is correct if your button has fallen out.
However the moving button is still held in a "cup" that is pushed into the case and only the button and cup create a complete pusher.
It is sometimes easier to replace the entire pusher from another case as the generic pushers from China are usually only appropriate for modern watches (either to small or to short).

Thanks a lot for your engagement. Seems to be a bit closer now.

I also hoped that watchco-australia would have these, but no luck. And I also just missed the NOS SS 1603 case they sold.... It looks to be a direct fit from the LCD you refer to Peter, and maybe even the pushers from the Albatross would fit..? I just measured the diameter of the pusher on my goldplated 1603, which I would guess is the same size as the SS one. The button itself is 2,97mm across on the outside. Measuring the SS case where the pusher should sit, I found the inner diameter of the tube to be 1,70mm, the outer diameter of the tube to be 2,20mm and the inner diameter of the recess for the pusher top to be 3.25mm.

Just sent you a PM Geoff. Thanks!

OP - as noted above, I have your button.....I own that "expensive little tool" for doing it right. Trying to match buttons from other cases is often problematic, since the outside of many button housings(the complete unit) are very slightly tapered, and obviously the overall length and the travel have to be appropriate. A button and spring out of it's outer housing is essentially broken button

Off-topic (slightly) - just posted up a SS. Constellation on my site, along with 17-18(?) other items. I have the wife chained to her desk, so hopefully 16 more will be posted today. I never refer to that watch as a 1603 - that's the movement number, afaik. :-)

It's a Constellation LED very often incorrectly named as Time Computer 3. The same goes to the other square model.
The 1603 calibre is the late version with alpha-numeric segment display whereas the 1602 is the first Frontier module with Pulsar (Litronix) dot display

I think links for 1250.200 bracelet are available from Cousins UK, Cousins's reference X22220 @ £10.95 + vat + postage each.
Not cheap!
