Post15 Sep 2012, 13:21

Have we seen the last of any new Synchronars to be sold?

Not sure what you mean by 'new' Synchronars, the closest thing to a new Synchronar that I remember being sold are the RWR LE Synchronar's that Howard was selling a few years back, these were 'new' watches made from recycled parts left over from his fathers old stock but I do not think he is still selling them.

i think mick and i might have the last ones. mine is #23. i forget what yours is mick. last i heard from howard he was trying to put together a MkV, but a lack of money and demand may have thwarted that. peter

I saw a "brand new" Synchronar from Howard Riehl (HWR?) 5 days ago when I met Barry Riehl. So it seems that thereĀ“s still a small production run from old parts. It had a MK IV circuit.

Since mark 5s may never be developed and sold, any "new" Mark 4.5 seen?

I bought a 'new' watch from Howard (made from NOS parts) a year ago, still running fine. A couple of caveats is most of the remaining modules have one or more defects in seldom used functions like the timer. Also they are not potted in gel, so not as durable. But it was still worth it to me, my original Mark III many years ago was one of my favorite watches.

Good to know a few new watches are/were being made.
