Does anyone know when the last Synchronar was made by Howard?

What is the RWR LE number on yours? Mine is 23. I think Micks is 27. I think he may have gotten the last of the LE’s. Don’t know if Howard put anything together after that. Peter

As I said, it died after a year and I sent it to Howard for repair or something. Still waiting. Too bad, as it was a real eye catcher.

I bought mine from Roger a few years before his death.

Has anyone who returned one for repair ever actually got it back? Over the years I’ve seen several posts about years old paid for unfulfilled orders, or faulty watches not returned.

Still waiting for mine to be repaired. And after I sent him extra for the potting gel.

Written it off, to bad.

Mine was built in 2015 and the display is starting to die. The right hand digit is almost unreadable.
Looks like Strikes and Spares is in process of making new modules, I sent them an inquiry.

Yes, I did.

For the mathematically inclined, I can serve as a proof of existence.

I ordered my Synchronar just before the turn of the century. It was delivered over three years later, only to die in less than a year.

I called Roger, and sent it back for a warranty repair. My timing was unfortunate, since this was only a few months before Roger passed away. Since I did not want to bother the family in the midst of their grief, I sort of let the matter rest.

About a year later, I discovered Howard here in one of the DWF forums, and started to negotiate to get my watch back, repaired or not. This went on for such a long time, I was at the point of giving up, when Howard suddenly decided to send me the watch.

He was kind enough to include one spare Lexan shell, plus one quartz crystal. On the other hand, he had also melted two holes in my watch, despite the fact that I had told him not to.

There you have it. At least one person has had his watch sent back by Howard, after sending it in for a repair. It did not come back in working order, but that did not seem to be a requirement.

Cheers

Does it count as a Synchonar when it isn't potted?

Alternative quip:
That is, the batteries leaked and killed the processor?

(I am aware of that this is somewhat unfair, since only a minority of the original watches suffered from batteries starting to leak due to the vacuum infusion process [a.k.a. potting].)

I wouldn't survive that myself, so the watch's ability is immaterial at that point

My original Mark III suffered the battery leak and case fracture death (Riehl claimed that it was due to my use of solvents which I never bought into - the case burst from within).

My 2015 Mark IV built from old parts but with new batteries so far is holding up, with the exception of a weak right hand digit. I am bugging Strikes and Spares about their supposedly in progress new module, for when it eventually dies. Hopefully S & S will come through, because if not no one else will.

And I actually worry more about shock damage than diving into water, which is why I almost never wear the watch...
