Power consumption of a Synchronar?

Post23 Apr 2012, 19:52

Has anyone out there measured how much power a Synchronar consumes when the display is dark?
Are the SASM 8x modules any better?

For comparison: The service datasheet for the movement of my analogue Longines from the mid 90s, claims that current drain of this movement is a mere 1.3 microampere. Running on a 1.55 V battery, this translates to a power consumption of about 2 microwatts.

In drlava's thread it states: "typical 16 microAmp draw of a good unit".

It doesn´t matter if the module takes 2uA or 16uA as this consumption can be neglected compared to the display (15-40mA) battery consumption and the self discharge of the batteries. I would rate the self discharge of a NiMh like the V80 at about 20% - 25% each month.

The SASM80 takes from 5 to 9uA depending on the uC.
