That is a mk I or mkII. From mid to late 1970's. That one looks like it could be fixed to running cond. Except for the upper corners where the cell wires were soldered. There is a lengthy and well written article about Roger Riehl and synchronar in the May/June Watch and Clock Bulletin. Peter

This is a MK2 module.
In the picture where IC is on top of the PCB one can see that one "leg of the IC is cut off and that gives it away. And allso MK2 modules do not have the trimmer on the bottom side. Allso only one reed switch on the back side (sometimes on left, sometimes on right) for settings and one reed switch is not installed to the usual place where MK1 module has hour setting switch. Mk2 module does have much less components on the PCB then MK1 modules have.

Best regards

E.

If you join the NAWCC, it's an add-on publication that can be purchased with. If you don't want to pay extra for the actual publication, there is free online access if you are a member.

7 whole pages of coverage :O`~
I have only skimmed through it myself, but it all seems positive goodness about research and development...

Hello,
The 12 page NAWCC Bulletin on my Father can be seen by going to Google and Type in ROGER RIEHL. The 6 or 7th choice is the PDF for the Article. You will see pictures of his childhood pinball machine and Teenage High School Scoreboard. Plus many photos of The Family's Artifacts/Prototypes. The official Bulletin that Howard and I assisted Randy Jaye in making will finally clear the air on some misunderstandings and Facts about the Synchronar that many did not know. It will allow my Father to be Finally officially recognized as to many of the First's the Synchronar has. He will also be able to be found at The Library of Congress soon if not allready as a result of this article. Still learning on computers if someone wants to post the URL feel free to do so. Thanks

Love the article,

Picture of the synchronar on page one, figure 2, is mine from a series of pictures I took for Howard. It is a limited edition legacy Mark IV, number 16.

To bad they don't cite the photos author.

The photos and original posting:

Yeah, great article. Obviously a friggin genius . . . shame the LED era didn't run a little longer, would have put a lot more wind under his wings, and the Synchronar. :-|

It is a shame that no one will create a Mark V Synchronar
