I needed to install a new crystal on to this HP 01. I also have restored some older Summit Pocket calculators which had 2X LED magnifying lenses installed.
After harvesting on of the lenses from a donor Summit I cut, fit, polished and installed it on my in use HP.
The pictures show the new lense on the left and the original on the NOS HP 01 on the right.
You can really see the size difference. The LED is still visible through all angles that I use while on the wrist and really enhance the readability of the watch.
You can see that it rises above the frame of the watch but as yet it has not been an inconvenience or scratched by accident due to it's size. The lense actually tilts towards the viewer, all in all I think a good mod of the ultimate calculator watch.
