Fairchild - Repair help

Post30 Jul 2008, 04:03

Quite sometime ago I attempted to have my mother's Fairchild watch repaired. I can't recall where I mailed it for diagnosis, but $20 later, it was returned with a note reading they didn't have the parts necessary. I wonder if they even tested it? For all I know, it is just a dead battery, but I can't even pry the back open w/out damaging the case.

I love this watch and would really like to get it working again. I'd appreciate any referrals for a Fairchild whiz.

Many thanks for your help.

Hello and welcome to the forum...

As you say it may just need new batteries, try taking it to your local jewellers and have them remove the back for you then you'll see if there's any corrosion from old batteries and take it from there. If the modules gone check out Ebay there’s plenty of working ladies LED's for sale look out for watches with the same button orientation as the Fairchild which may fit its case.
