Is that a broken reed switch under the QC ? Sounds like you may need to use a small amount of solder or small wire to fix traces on the board since you have concluded there is an open circuit trace from + PV leading to positive on the battery,check thru hole area and put a drop of solder in the hole.Very carefully you will need to clean the area around the QC and resistor and get all goo or finger oil removed while keeping the isopropyl alcohol and brush from getting near the chip area,wait 30 min to dry.You may even need to replace the QC. RTC did things different and the greater majority of MK III circuits did not have a chip in package.The one you have was originaly a Sunwatch but a Synchronar top would make it a Synchronar module.That is the only difference.The PCB like that is from 77-78.There was 5 different PCB,s used just for the MK III.I have a bunch for someone to sit down and test.I find one that works and build it anytime an order is placed.
