Can you identify this module ?

To me it looks like a Hughes but I'm not 100%.

Anyone else..

Hughes. Odd thing with that one, it may or may not have a protruding locating tab on it(I've only seen it on those pale yellow ones), something that no other Hughes module had. And it may have a slightly larger than normal display(for that size module) - many of those found in "Concord" watches(oddly, almost alway marked Concord on a sticker overt the quartz oscillator) were set up that way; presumably, a special order with Hughes.

It's in an attractive stainless case I was looking at, but rightly or wrongly I'm a bit wary of Hughes., what with the odd crystal frequency and lots of 'open' wire bonds..

I'll probably give it a miss, or maybe not.

Yeah, the one that looks like their large SSQ LCD watch....wasn't that weird that Timex decided to buy modules when they were already making their own?

Hughes are actually quite sturdy, probably being one of the most durable. The crystals are not a big problem, since they can be harvested off the odd ones that go bad in the display but otherwise are keeping proper time. THat said, the 25mm HUghes is not nearly as sturdy as the Hughes 29mm. The 25s are frequently damaged when the plastic hub is pulled away from the circuit board, tearing the quartz crystal loose, since it is trapped in the plastic battery hub. Putting a drop or two of epoxy along the edge is good insurance against that kind of tom foolery.
