Need help identifying this watch

Hi there, I've acquired another LED watch which I can't identify, and I wondered if anyone here knows what it is? It LOOKS like an over-sized Texas Instruments Model 102, but it's definitely NOT (I've shown it next to a TI-102, for reference; this watch makes the TI look like a baby, compared to it)! This watch utilizes a module which I have never seen before...it has a microprocessor chip in it, and the batteries stack on top of each other, in a black plastic tube! Then, the whole module sit in a brass 'can'-type base...very cool looking! Also, since the batteries are stacked, there's just one battery hatch cover, on the caseback. A friend suggested that maybe it's a Benrus watch, but I'm not sure. Anyway, this four-ounce (around 113 grams) monster works great and looks really nice, and I'd just like to know who made it. Anyone? Thanks!

I suspect it is a Benrus, the button lay out and the way the batteries fit are the same as other Benrus models that I have.

Hi Bucko, YES! You are exactly right, it IS identical to your Benrus watch! I assume yours has the same microprocessor-chip module in it, right? Anyway, thanks ever so much, for your great help! Gee, I LOVE this forum! Cheers!

That's a nice looking watch, Dodger! Judging by the comparison with that TI, it looks pretty chunky!
The batteries arrangement is also very particular, I didn't know that some modules had such a setup.

Hey VPN, yeah, it's a super-chunky watch, that's for sure! In fact, I don't think I've seen an LED watch that was bigger than this one. At 39x46x15mm, it's at least as big as my Wittnauer "2002" Automatic, which is an exceptionally large watch, in its' own right. Plus, I've never seen an LED watch which incorporates a microchip, AND stacks the batteries, like in this one!

Regarding your collection, that's a nice assortment! I've never had a Beltime or Elektronika, but I've seen them around. But, I do have a Bulova Computron, a couple CompuChron Austins, and a Fossil LED watch from 2002. Cool stuff!

Thank you Dodger! My latest addition, the Austin Compuchron "Hexagon" has just arrived today (I've made a thread in the Latest Acquisitions section, same for my Bulova Drivers), while my first two LED watches that started my collection can be seen in the LED watch section. Now I go back in topic

It seems that it has very few scratches too, the crystal just needs a bit of polishing then it can be like new, from what I see!

Yes, I do like those hexagonal CompuChrons as well, in fact I've got a few in both goldtone and silvertone, and I've also got several CompuChrons other than the hexagonal ones. I do like the Comps, but my favorite watch brand (LED or otherwise) is Wittnauer. Love 'em!
