LED - - A CLOSED SHOP

Post06 Jan 2006, 23:52

I have been looking at who is selling the new LED watches and it would appear to be just one company in the UK http://www.led-watch.com. They advertise elswhere but seem to have a large market on these style of watches. Does anyone else here know where there is a good wholesaler or manufacturer that i could get in touch with..

cheers Mike..

OH.. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Check out this site:

http://www.ledwatchstop.com/

Run by a great guy called Troy he has some excellent modern leds and the prices are so low you would have to get 1000's made to get a lower price than those. Checkout those great new square face dot matrix's, Im a diehard 70's collector but I really like those new ones....

Wow, didn't know these yet, thanks for the pointer. Very nice :) - I'm really tempted...

However, is the design licensed by Diesel? It looks like a DZ7027 with LED module and buttons swapped (I have a DZ7027 - just one reason more to get the LED version  ).

Hey those really are similar, my guess, having been to Hong Kong and seen how good the Chinese are at replicas, is that they employed a mold previously made to produce fake Diesals, to produce the cases for the new leds, its a nice design, who cares what inspired it!!

I've found a factory in China which produces real led watch , but the minimum order quantity is 5000 !!! They have 4 or 5 designs and they look quite nice for a really cheap price.
If you are interested , email me

I hope whomever might be considering buying the 1000 pieces does a marketing study first to determine interest.

I do like the blue and green displays though. The cases for the blue and green aren't as bad either as the cases for the other red led models though. Everyone has a different sense of style, beauty in the eye of the beholder and such. :D

I'm glad to see more led watches though. Only thing I'd change is to just put the time as 4:55 instead of that strange 4.55 style though. I think there should be a separate PM indicator the left of the digits (just my opinion.) More similar to what the Pulsar sport LED modules did.

I like the blue and green ones too, but I wonder if that's just because their LED color is a change from the regular red? I think all the red LED models, face the extra scrutiny of being compared, in appearence and quality, to the better built vintage models. The green and blue LED case designs aren't s so clear to see either, so I can't be too sure what they really look like?

I would be tempted to buy them just for the Blue or Green modules, but they cant even keep the dots straight. All the better I think, at least the quality built vintage Leds will keep thier value cause they just dont build new ones as well

I've bought a few of those cheapos just to "gut" the little beasties - I concur.....TACKY,TACKY TACKY! The displays have been especially dissapointing, not nearly as brilliant as the pictures....that is an easy enough thing to doll up in Photoshop or some other graphics program(I do that myself to get rid of the scatter around the numbers). The last two displays look like touched up shots, the first two SHOULD have been touched up.

The red and yellow displays aren't bad. The green and blue are totally different and disappointing, IMO.

The being said, I have a new polished round cased with blue display if anyone is interested. :) The display is so bright, I can find my way out of a dark room with it.
