Microsonic led watch with chrono!

Post12 Sep 2006, 13:36

Hi,

I've just received a nice Microsonic Led watch "untested"
I put 2 batteries and bang!
It works fine , has time date + day of the week
+
a chrono (stopwatch) feature :!:
Have you ever seen that in a led watch?
In which one?

Hi,

I have a very strange problem with that watch.
I realized that the time doesn't move on!
It sets fine , once set , the second starts normaly but at 19th second ,it comes back to 0 !!!
So never a minute passes by????
I suspect a weakness in the design of the module.
I had it in a lot of Microsonic and Gruen led (the 2 must have merged in the past because some are marked Gruen on the face, come in a microsonic box and have the kind of the microsonic thunderbolt on the back:all mixed up)
It apparently came from an old stock from the factory maybe a prototype?
Any clue on that?

That means when wearing that watch you don't age. It really is what it says on the box "The Ultimate Timepiece" :D

Had I noticed i'd have bid a bit more, but Microsonic's just don't seem to pull in the money :( I had a really nice stainless steel, hexagonal Microsonic, that went for less than I hoped for. Microsonics seem to be low in the popularity order, a fair bit lower than Wittnauer's, for example.

Compu Chron(Olivier):
The stopwatch feature is nice, but I think two factors held the price down.
(1)A glitch in it's function - that is a big problem for most people, they think it is going to die on them.
(2)Very plain, round face and case. Whenever I have someone who is not a watch collector look at my pieces, they never pick up a round face watch...

I am surprised someone didn't give more just to get the box - using the logic of my point #1, it might have drawn more as two seperate auctions. But this is an inexact "science", like all psychology. :?

Somehow a watch photographed on a stand or in a box is much more desirable to me than one on someone's arm. A watch on someone else's arm reminds me it is used. Sort of a watch collector's "Madonna(virgin) Syndrome". Few men want to hear about a woman's ex - husband....most of us would like to think the watch was "waiting" for us alone. Get a couple of cheap watch stands and a tripod for your camera and you may do better.

Hi little1 Ed,
thanks for your comments , but I'm too lazy...
I have plenty of watch stands and a tripod for my camera , but I've sold lot of stuff recently ,worked a bit, was in vacations and took the pictures too quickly in the dark without using my tools.
Maybe I should withdraw my auction and list it properly.
At least I have 1 bider now at 1 euro!
