Interesting Timex Module. Has anyone else come across it?

Post08 Jun 2007, 19:24

Maybe I've just never noticed this before but I have a Timex LED watch with a module that has two different display outputs for AM and PM. Between 6:00am and 5:00pm it will display the time at full illumination. Between 6:00pm and 5:00am it will display it at half illumimation. So basically when it's lighter outside it will display bright and when it's dark outside it will display dimmer, to save the batteries. It might not be the perfect way of having different display outputs, but it's pretty darn cool! It's fun setting the watch to 5:59am and seeing the display go brighter when it goes to 6:00am. :)

This is the later Timex exclusive module, by the way. Not the 25mm Hughes.

The module looks no different than the standard Timex modules. A couple of other things that are different about the workings of it: In time setting mode, it will dim down to save the batteries. That's not unusal for some other modules, but I don't think I've seen this with the Timex. Also in time setting, it shows a P for PM and A for AM, where most of them show a colon for PM and no colon for AM.
