My Orient touchled set :)

Post16 Jul 2012, 16:37

I've had a broken orient led watch for a long time, joined this forum and now I've got these :)

I bought the manual on ebay and the kind seller said he had something else for me and gave me a very nice case (left one) and a module for free :-D
The case was missing a button and the two c clips holding the buttons. I removed the neccesary parts from my worn case (not on the pics) and placed them in the almost new case I got. It even has the price sticker on it  ($199,95)
The module I got had a problem, the : and a part of a digit didn't light up, so 9:00 looked like 3 00. After careful touching the wirebonds with a needle the digit is complete again and I got the upper dot working again :) The leds are covered by a soft silicone layer. I did try to get the lower dot of the : working again, but during the "prodding" the upper dot started to fail again, so I decided not to push my luck.

Very nice crystal: (with hair, sorry)

And my other one, which still has the original bracelet.

Well done for getting it working. These Orient touch LEDs are very nice watches. I belive there are more variations in the case design. Are you hoping to get the full set? :-)

Nice addition! I agree with Ade that Orient LEDs look very nice, despite touch-controlled watches aren't my cup of tea. Are you thinking to fix the display of the one you've bought on e-bay? With the wirebonds fixed it would be great, since it I see it has very few scratches, it's in amazing conditions. You've got a nice couple of Orients now! :-)

very nice ones indeed, high quality material...you have to scan the manuel and sent it to Adam (dwl), so we all can benefit from it.

Yes, I'm going to scan the manual, and make a pdf. And the movement ís fixed, only the lower dot of the : doesn't work, but I can live with that.

And if I can get my hands on another case variation I will try to get it :) The manual also mentions other led calibers....
