HUGHES AIRCRAFT MODULE QUESTION

Post26 Jul 2012, 04:49

I just replaced a defective module on my SS Bulova Big block with a generic HA module, the early dot display.
Is more work than the later type but it retains the original look. This new module doesn't display seconds

When you depress the comand botton all the way the date just blinks once every second, is this a variation of this module, did an early HA module only display time and date but nos seconds.? the module did the same on the donor case depresing both pushers

Unfontanly I still can not upload files, I got this warning that the attatchment quota has been reached, I hope it gets fix soon.

Atachments are working for us on the Estates, Great!!! Thanks Hanno.

When using a generic HA module as a replacement it is necessary to modify one path on the circuit board to adapt it to the multi function button, did you do that? Regrettably I did not make a picture and I don't own this watch any more. But if you compare the original module with a generic HA you shoud see what I mean.

Actually I re-route both terminals and transfer the multyfunction pad from the
old module to the newone to work like the original.
I soldered thin wires insted of conductive paint. The module wasn't showing seconds before the mode neither.
On the Bigblock pushing all teh way shows blinking date pulling shows steady date. funny.
on the plus side I don't have to pull to show date just push further. works for me.
:-D
