LED Module Database.

A request has been made for a LED module database, I have discussed this with Kasper and he has decided to allow a trial run which will be kept if it proves to be successful, I have started the ball rolling with a Hughes 29mm module and would now invite other members to upload their own photo's and corresponding information and add to or correct any information already given.
Please post on this thread and for my part I will try to keep the database organised and as user friendly as possible..... so if you think it is a worthwhile idea and want to keep it - stick on ya pic's.

Manufacturer = Hughes.
Date = 1973 to 1976
Diameter = 29.31mm
Depth = 6mm, 7mm including black plastic front cover.
Button Location = Command button at 2 o'clock position (other variations have command buttons at the 2 and 7 o'clock position), set button at the 3 o'clock position.
QC Frequency = 786.432Hz
Variations = Line segmented display, month, date display, day of the week display, fixed message and programmable message.
Battery Size = 357 or 386 (11.6mm diameter)

Here's an early hand soldered module. I cant remember what this came out of, but notice how its got 11 driver transistors for the multiplexed 7 segments X 4 digit display !!

Does anyone else recognise this ?

Diameter 29mm, thicknesses of 6 or 8 mm may fit batteries 386 or 357 accordingly.
Demand button 2 o'clock, Set button 4 o'clock, second time zone at 8 o'clock if applyed.
Regardless of type no. early versions with dot display, lateron with bars

Better avoid touching front side of the earlyer versions which consists only of black plastic foil over a thin silicone layer on the chip's bonding wiring.

Very common modules which were mostly equipped by European watch manufacturers.
In general I'd rate reliability and robustness of NS modules as good/average

Hello everyone
I can contribute with a Hughes Aircraft module. I took it from a Bertone Stratos watch and It should be the module n. 206 ( according to what i read on a book ) but can't find it marked anywhere.
It's very similar to the first module uploaded in this thread but It has 2 command button, time at 2 o'clock and date at 8. The set button is at 3.
Maybe i should take the battery holder away and see if something is written under it, or maybe someone could have some infos.

Frontier Movements features by model number. Handy when facing a circuit board with no plastic carrier/hub,etc. . . . Some of this came from some old catelog, I added to that info. PrimarilyI added the info on the springs since it is sometimes not apparent and info on any movements past mid 1975, the date of publication. :)

FR-015 SEG(display)., DOW, no spring. - i.e. no springs protrude from module chassis to complete a connection.

2002C SEG., alpha date/no DOW spring -has a spring protruding . . . :) . *Some 2002C are dot & spring

2002G Dot, spring
2002F Dot, no spring, side clip makes connection in one battery port. *The clip can be removed and one of the solder points is in same place as a SPRING. Basically it's a 2002G - but the model LETTER seem wrong from a sequential standpoint. To me :)

2006 Stopwatch, SEG.,DOW, 2 springs

2007 ALARM, SEG, DOW, 2 springs

20058/2005 SEG, DOW, no spring and no clip in battery port. They changed how they were doing things. [Like the 2002Ff]These can be "de-clipped" and then work in some spring contact cariers/hubs - the original contact point are not gone, just not utilized the same.

*Some models that don't have a model number on the board, have the model number IN the display. Serious - some of the displays have a number in upper right corner you can see through the plastic of the display under a microscope. I think it's because Frontier had the capability to make their own displays.
