It is a re-branded Hughes 29mm module with the addition of an extra contact to make it function with the 3 o'clock position push/pull command button.

BTW: A standard one button Hughes 29mm module can be easily modified to work in the 'Big Block', see this thread here for details viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3287&p=19847&hilit=bulova+convert#p19847

You are right and that's the way it should be done in the first place if they had the later module. I believe all this Big-blocks came with the early Hughes dot display module which is prone
to wire-bond problems and missing segments, that combine with awkward push pull crown command that is very sensitive to misalignment . not wonder you find so many not working or acting up.
lucky for Us the brains of the DWF almost always came with an answer. Don't You love the
