1970's LED Dice game watch

Post27 May 2014, 14:01

As promised, some photo's of the MWC Dice game watch, which is similar to the "Dr. Suriano" branded watch.
I would have liked to leave my fingers out of the photo, but unfortunately the game only displays when you press the lower button, and disappears immediately, as you release.
Enjoy:

Cool watch. Does the dice readout seem to be random with each push or do you suspect a pattern?

Thanks.
From the times I've pushed it, it looks to be a random readout, although I'd need to push it a lot more than I have, to check for any kind of pattern.

Super cool 8-)

Are you planning on keeping it in the same case?

Thanks Mick, it actually is a pretty cool watch.

I'm not changing anything. I bought the watch as a big favour, for someone who I consider to be a very dear friend, and has been after this specific watch for a long, long time. I'm not making a cent on it, and it wasn't bought to sell on at a huge profit...purely a favour for a friend. I have no idea if he plans to keep it in this case or not, but I can only assume he will.

I'm just happy to have had it in my hands for a while, and to get some good photos.

BTW purely as an interesting aside, random numbers in computers tend to be only pseudo random and are generated using a logical structure so in that sense it would be interesting to see how "random" this watch appears but even if its not that convincing its likely to be an early implementation of what was to come on home computers (which is pretty cool)
