Hi All.
I recently received a P3 D/C. When I took the module out, the display, and one of the transistors for the display, were floating around inside the case. I'm not sure if they just fell off, or if someone intentionally removed them.
I want to test the display before re-attaching to the module. It has a whole heap of tabs on the back which provide the electrical connections to the board underneath.
Does anyone know what each of these tabs are, and what voltages should be applied to light up each segment ?
(I'll post some photos when my camera batteries re-charge !)
Sorry, should have answered sooner, you need 2 volts for experimentation, 1.5 wont light the leds and 3volts will overheat and blow them. The negative connections are the three up the side and the first one on top next to them, the others are the positives, the first digit being only a ''1'' shares negatives with the colon, have a play around, its good fun.
If you don't have 2 volts, you can use 3 volts (e.g. from 2x AA) with a resistor (220 to 470 Ohms) in series - the resistor is absolutely necessary to limit the LED current!
