Help me Identify this LED ?

Just purchased this a few days ago on the BAY! Does anyone know the Mfg. of this one? Looked clean and for the price the chance seems 50/50! Thanks for all the help!

Is there anything stamped on the caseback and what does it look like inside.

I thought it looked similar in shape to a Hudson Harris especially with the mesh band.
The case back looks wrong for a HH watch though - all the ones that I have seen have had the 2 battery ports on the rear case, as per the typical Hughes module layout?

I'd guess Microsonic or Alcor with those raised "tits" on the back,with springs on the inside of them(just like the real ones):oops: . Or not, some folks don't understand that secure contact with the back is necessary.

Ok....Finally got the watch! It is a Fairchild Module! Looks very clean and everything in great shape so far from intial lookover. New 386's installed, cleaned contact with denatured alcohol and still nothing. What should I do next? Hot Cold ? etc. Looking for answers from the pro's! It does have contact plate soldered to the case back cover cleaned that as well...still no light! Thanks for your replies in advance!

Nevermind folks! Cracked ceramic board! Damn! That'll keep them from firing up everytime. Case and band are like brand new what a shame. Any ideas on what type of Modules to keep an eye out for? Like to get it working one day. It would be a nice, dressy, stainless watch when repaired.

Well if it can't be glued and silver-expoxyed then you would need to look for a replacement module. Other members may have other oppinions, but imho fairchild are about the most sensitive mainstream modules, so if you can then use something else as a replacement. Try asking at the market place forums here for a module with the appropritae diameter (i.e. 16 mm) and description of the buttons (i.e. buttons at 10 and 2 o'clock). Otherwise you could hope on another bag of modules to pop up on ebay or just randomly hunt down ladies wristwatches with a similar estimated size.

Thanks so much for the reply! Have you had any luck gluing Mod's before? The crack runs from about 7:00 angled to about 11:00 right through the Negative battery contact plate. Where can one find the silver epoxy you mentioned.

I'd try to glue the crack first with super glue, so the board gets somehow stable again. Keep in mind that it will need to be able to resist gentle pressure from pushing the buttons, so either do a good job here or you need to push the button very softly to assure the pressure wont break it again.

Then take a close look, there are many conducting lines "printed" on it, the crack should have broken a few. Your task is to apply the silver-epoxy on these broken connections, so electricity can run through them again. Only crucial mandatory goal- do not short circuit 2 lines that aren't meant to be connected! Use the tip of a needle to make sure you dont use too much silver epoxy at once. If the accident happens and a drop of silver epoxy connects "unwantedly" 2 of the wrong power lines, then seperate them with a razor blade, carving a gap between the lines, so they get unconnected again.
