P3 Setting date question

Post13 Mar 2009, 17:08

Hello,

I'm trying to set the date on a P3, but I can't change the days, only time and month is possible to change. Is there anything special I need to do?

Also, would anyone know the approximate value of a P1 (the squared-face one) with a "Tiffany" branding on the red glass, with Box & instructions? NOS-condition, but NON-Working!!!

Best Regards
Fredrik.

Did you hold both buttons while trying to change the date?

Welcome goanfre. And please disregard CompuChron's vain attempt at humor. $25 is clearly too low for such a fine piece.
I'll offer you $30 ! :-P

Yes - some pics would be nice. :-)

I'll bet £50 on it being a PII, any takers? (either that or the guy is typing this from an internet cafe somewhere in Africa).

Original poster's email is through Adidas COrp, Sweden...his IP is traceable to Russellmann, Germany(I may have spelled that city wrong, don't bust my nuggets over that  )

I'll bid $300 - high for a P2 case(if richard is right) but what the heck.

Somehow I always pictured you looking very different richard...but I guess a suit and tie does make a difference. Just jerking your chain...good to see you. :-)

You probably mean Rüsselsheim - which translates to "proboscis' home" (I had to look that one up ;-) ) and is also home of the currently famous "Opel" car company...

Russelsheim - I believe that is it ReWolf. Is it invasive when someone's location is bantered about(even if in fun) and I post back what the administration control panel for our forum software gives me? :-? I've only done it a handful of times, when someone is talking about selling something and we are not familiar with the person in any fashion. I do a network level trace along with a "trace route", which makes it more clear if someone is having their IP spoofed, just takes a few postings to compare. Anyway, a low number of postings is not real indicative of how often a person logs in or visits - many have their presence hidden(in your profile you can do this) and have registered to make sure they get access to everything on the forum. Funny thing is, our [sick]"Humor" section is the only thing off limits to visitors.

I was just joking about him being a scammer, but you do need to be careful when buying from unkown members on forums as there are a lot of people out there that will take your money and send you nothing, I've seen it happen many times on car forums. The main reason I was making jokes about this watch is that (afaik) they never made a Tiffany signed P1.

Which is why I did that minimal check against his IP and pointed out he has a corporate email account, rather than a free one like with gmail or yahoo or something - as a service to any member who should want to do business with them.... People occasionally contact me out of the blue wanting to sell me something high-end - I drop $15-20+ on doing some checks on them, using www.intelius.com. A reverse phone lookup and an addrses check is fairly minimal if you are buying, say, a minty solid 18k calc. off a stranger(even if it is missing its original box) :-) If their information doesn't jive with what they have given me, I only will do those deals on an "approval" basis. I give them links to my state corporations board and property records, so they can check on ME for their peace of mind. :-)

I thought the same until I stumbled across this:
http://www.ledwatches.net/photo-pages/p ... iffany.htm

As you can see, this is a Tiffany P1 (not signed on the glass), but still clearly a Tiffany signed P1.
Has anyone contacted this guy and got photos yet ?

Rgds,
Andrew.

I have seen pictures of this P1 before, and I agree, Tiffany could certainly have afforded to have their entire company name engraved on the side of the watch. My guess is, these are the initials of the purchaser [I realize they would normally be capital letters, but if the "tfy" is really an abbreviation for Tiffany, wouldn't at least the "T" also be capitalized?...I think this is possibly just an example of an unobtrusive personalization.]. Either way, I don't think there is sufficient evidence to connect this particular watch with Tiffany. As for a new P1 being out there, I'd have to say the odds don't favor it, but let's wait to see the pictures [it's been well over a year since the last one, so we are sort of overdue...].
