I think you made a wrong choice with a eagle led watch.
the watch has no particular design, the digit are thin and tiny.
And it's not a real vintage. It's a new old stock from the 90's...
You want a nice led watch ? Go for Pulsar or Hamilton.Or a real vintage 704 led watch.
Look on the www.retroleds.com site from Ed, and you'll have plenty of nice watches for a fair price .

I have noticed one or two of the moderns going cheap on eBay and was wondering with regards to size and fit rather than quality if the Eagle, Fossil or any of the other modern LED's modules where any good for use as doners?

I have several nice cases that would otherwise just sit gathering dust so this could be an option.

Mic, some of the moderns would be good, but those with the correct diameter module(Fossils fit in a 29 mm case with just a small filing off of an alignment nub), generally have a prblem with setting - contact on the left side. So a Fossil could go in a National Semi case that was set up for dual time zones, but not much else. And that would be a real waste - albeit, the Fossil 2002 line does have a fairly nice display. Most of the other moderns have crazy large diameter modules that would only fit in a P2/case or similar. Note: Fossil and Atomix have virtually identical modules - small wire-bonded displays under a magnifier.

Agreed! The display is poor, small bubble lenses. Either get the real thing or a decent modern LED watch like the Majestyk II. But that's of course a matter of personal preference / taste...

But anyway, if it fails after only a few weeks the seller must replace it. Ask him, I'm quite sure he will.

Hi....I guess this is one of those situations of when it rains it pours.

The eagle is actually a great looking watch for price....but there is no argument that does not have the sheer charisma or quality of a Majestyk. Although the Eagle is NOS..it is typically a reliable watch and we stand behind our product and service. Customers are our priority.

I will have our office send a replacement module for the watch.

BTW...the eagles and fossils use virtually the same display with bubble magnifier. It is the same IC produced by SHARP in the 90s.
