Need help identifying this led

Post20 Mar 2009, 14:37

Hi all,

Just recieved this led in the mail, it has no manufactures name on it so I was wondering if anyone here could help with any infomation at all

The seller said he couldnt get it to work but I persevered and managed to get it to light up, only problem it has is the top right button seems stuck but works intermittently, is their any fix for this?

Thankyou in advance

edit: Here's another one I hope someone might have some info, bit of a let down as it's definitely not in working condition unlike "description" on eBAY

The button is probably sticking due to the years of muck and grime if you have some cleaning alcohol use a swab or cotton bud and run some around the button (this dissolves the crud) working it in and out till its free moving then using a drinking straw blow the excess alcohol out of the button, then put a drop or two of watch oil or similar light oil around the button and work it in, as easy as that... :-)

Looks like a Benrus to me, but that from my mind, so i could be wrong. Due to the separate covers for the Batteries and the general look i would estimate it around 1975-1976, but I'm only guessing here. The case and bracelet could use some polishing although some people are totally after the "Used look" which can be appealing if its not worn with a dress suit.

Klippie tip is well, just make sure to not use too much force or you can accidentially force the buttons out of the case. Just rinse and repeat, after many uses most of the grease stuck in the button will wear out, the alcohol helps solving it. If you still have problems then heat can also help, after removing the sensible module just gently apply warm air with a hairdryer, make sure you dont burn it or melt the plastic display if you leave it in the watch.

Nice finding, an oldtimer with style and probably a story to tell.
