Gillette LED Watch - Model 318

Post10 Apr 2009, 18:00

Hey guys...

I recently came across this watch in a lot that I bought on e-bay. It's as the title says, Gillette Watch Company, Model 318. I took the back off, cleaned out some scuzz, replaced the battery and voila - it works! All the LED segments light up, the date function works (I think - only shows the date, not the month, which might be right), and the face only has some light scratches in it (from what I've been reading, this is easily fixed).

I cannot find anything about this watch on the internet anywhere, no pictures, nothing.

Does anyone know if this watch is worth something?

Statsman! - welcome to the dwf.nu. The function is correct. WHile in the setting mode you probably came to an area where the watch displayed either "- - - -" or "OFF". That is for a tip-wrist activation feature. The lines means it is ON, "Off" means, off(douh!). When on, a gently turn to about 45 degrees(view angle, will turn on the display about a second later. They've gone on ebay anywhere from $50-$1400(a bit of an abberition, but it was New Old Stock, fully boxed, paperwork and one of the better looking case designs...probably more worth like $600-700). I'd say your's polished up is worth $125-200...plain round faced watches generally don't command great prices, but it could still be a very cool watch.

Thanks, great to be here.

I have no real idea if this is an original band, because as I said, I can't find anything on this watch. Not even a sniff.

However, the tilt function...works! How cool!

Anyway, I'm going to find out how to best buff out the scratches on the face, and then see what I can get for it.
