I just got this today!!

Post29 Jul 2009, 03:02

I ran into one of the ladies that worked for Pulsar and then for us when we ran Pulsar Repair Service. She said she had her late husbands Pulsar "Service" watch. I finally got around to getting it today. Luckily she took the batteries out years ago. I put batteries in it and it works perfectly. It even came in the original box!! It has a sapphire time screen and 104 auto set module. She also gave me her "Service" watch but I haven't tried it out yet.

Nice catch! You even got the box. :-)
I am working on getting a dress model myself. Don't know if it will look as good as yours but I''ll post a pic. Can you tell me how wide is the band where it meets the case? (I'll need to buy a new one.)

Yes 19 mm or approximately 3/4 inch. I do have some of these original NOS lizard straps in stock . I have both brown and black with GF buckles. Greg R.

19mm - thanks guys. I am still working on this 'deal' but wanted to start scouting out a band in anticiaption.

Nice looking lizzard bands Greg. Are these after market?
I thought that the dress model Pulsar's leather bands always had the signature "P" on the buckle, no?

That is to say - either a leather band with the Pulsar logo on the clasp or one of the 2 metal bands; mesh and 'flex'? What do you call the style of the other one?

These are the original Lizard straps that came with the men's dress model with the 104 module. You didn't need the bigger buckle with the magnet attachment.
Your first pic is either a solid gold dress or a GF with the non detachable bracelet. There is a thin pin you had to drive out to replace this style bracelet .No push pins.
Your second pic is a SS men's dress with the extra adjustment sizer in the clasp. They also came in a high polish finish for the green filter men's dress.

No I don't. I sold the one I had to a guy in Lancaster ,PA back around 1990. I don't collect any of them. I'll probably sell this watch after I make sure the module is running perfectly. I think I also have a NOS GF bracelet for it.

Update! The watch is running great. I also put new batteries in the GF ladies watch . It's running perfectly too. I have my Dad looking for a nos gf bracelet for it.
My dad contacted some of the ladies that worked for Pulsar and US.He told them to bring any old Pulsar watches , modules , boxes that they have laying around and he's going to buy them dinner and catch up on old times when he comes back up to visit in September. Who knows what might show up !!
I'll post some pics of both watches later this week end.

Return to Pulsar and Hamilton
