Battery help

Post14 Aug 2009, 22:16

I have a Fairchild LED watch, approximately 33 years old - square face, rounded corners with gold braid band: it has 2 batteries (appear to be same size), however I no longer have the batteries and wonder if you can help me determine which ones it takes.

Chances are overwhelming 357s or 386s will do the job. In general, ladies' watches take 386s, mens' watches, 357s. If you could find the model in the picture gallery, we could pin it down for certain.

Dick:
Assuming we are talking about a Men's watch..

If the command button is at 2 clock and setting dimple at 4 oclock - #386.

Ifthe command button is at 1 oclock and setter at 3 oclock, - #357.

If a Ladies it will be the #392 in most cases.

Many thanks. Looks like 357s - buttons at 1 o'clock and 4 o'clock. Did look for it in the gallery but no joy. It's a beautiful watch, dark face, LED readout right in the middle. Wife got it for me when we were in Japan - regettably I haven't worn it in over 20+ years.

Whoa, scratch the 357s. Had a couple on hand for a Casio calculator. Although they are the right diameter, they are way too thick and cannot get the back on.

386s are the right ones, then.

Haven't gotten the 386s yet, but looking closer at the watch it appears I'm missing a piece that snaps across the batteries to connect the two. Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain it or if there is a "home" fix I can make? Thanks in advance for the replies and help. Want to insert a couple of pics but can't figure out how to get them from ImageShack. D
