london_funk :
Haha... Thank you.
I'm well known Peter for a long time, his collection and enthusiasm is quite excellent.

I have been collecting for about 20 years.
Now I have about 150 LED watches in my collection.
But my favorite is not only LED but also any kind of odd style watches : LCD, mechanical digital, analog (mechanical, electric, tuning fork, quartz and so on).
So I'm crazy about watches.

london_funk wrote:if theses are the models i beleive they to be....
wow you have some amazing led watch collection there HAL
"peter wenzig" eat your heart out ...lol
how long have you been collecting? how many do you have in your collection?

: New release! Photo Books of "LED watches"

Post15 Oct 2009, 19:20

LEDluvr :
Thanks.
What early LCD model should be introduced?
Please let me know your idea.
I have some, but I have to find them to take a photo.
That's a problem.

Thank your for asking H A L....

Here are a few suggestions:

Early Seikos:

0624-5009
0634-5019
0634-5009
A039-5009 (world's first digtial w/ alarm?)
A239-5000T World Timer
M159-5009 (just because I like it :-) )
A156-5020 (Seiko's first solar watch?)

James Bond Seikos:

A159-4019 Moonraker
M354-5000 Moonraker
G757-5020 Ocotopussy

maybe include pictures of others from the G757 series as it is still very popular?
Perhaps also the Seiko that the US Space Shuttle astronauts used in the 1980's? I forget the model number on that one....

I was just focusing on the early Seiko's in my response, but yeah - there are tons of noteworthy early LCD watches that should be included!
How many can/will H A L include? Only he knows....

Here are pictures of the G757-5010;

And the G757-5020 - the actual model used in the movie;

That's Roger Moore's arm - not mine.

Both are stunners IMO - and unfortunately neither are in my personal collection........ yet ;-)

I prefer the 5020, that 'horseshoe' shape just looks so dam cool 8-)

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your suggestion.

I recomend :

SEIKO
0614 : 0624 is the 2nd model of SEIKO LC. 0614 is the first 6 digits LCD watch in the world and the case was made of Titan. It is quite special model.
0514 or 0524 : Do you know these model? There are 2 subsidiary company of manufacturing in SEIKO. 0614 and 0514 were made in 1973 by different company. 0514 is rarer than 0614.
0634 : This is the 1st LCD chronograph.
G757-5000 or 5020 : That's right. This is the original "Octopussy" model. 5000 is Japanese model, 5020 is overseas.
T001 : SEIKO TV-watch.
A828-5000 : Giugiaro design
C153 : SEIKO 1st Calc. model
A239 : World timer. It was wore by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
UW01 : UC-2000 wrist computer
RC-20

and so on...
Image

I want to introduce "World's 1st models" :
Dynamic Scattering LCD : OPTEL
Field Effect LCD : GRUEN, TIMEX SSQ
LCD with alarm : CITIZEN CRYSTRON ALARM.
LCD Calc. : CITIZEN CRYSTRON CALCULATOR.
LCD / Solar : CRISTALONIC, SICURA
Hybrid Analog with LCD : OMEGA Chronoquartz
Radio Controled : Junghans MEGA1
Touch Display : CASIO TC-500, VDB-1000 or 100
High Protection : G-shock DW-5000

Oh! I cannot stop listing... ~:(

Hi HAL.
These books look great. Can't wait till they're available. Please keep us posted as to when/how we can buy them.

I agree, the LCD edition should definately contain the DSMs (BWC, Optcom, Microma etc), and the early stem-set and back set FE models (Gruen, Optel, Segtronic etc).

Well done for making this effort !

Are those the 3 front-button models that were not released outside of Japan?

And how could I have forgotten the Seiko TV watch (also Octopussy) and the H357 and the "Arnie" (For Your Eyes Only)?
I realize the Seikos you have shown us is only a small fraction of your 150 collection - you must have a real impressive collection :!:

I have seen it with different case design.

I promise to let you know when and how it will sell overseas.

Do you have any pictures or a link? That would be really interesting.
Later on, the Mega 1 was sold under various brands in different cases (e.g. Eurochron, plastic), but I've never encountered any other from the ones pictured here: http://dwf.nu/viewtopic.php?t=2333.
And I don't know much about other markets than Germany.

Once I have ever seen Mega 1 UK model on web site for sale.
But I could not find the page again.
I miss it.
The crystal design looks like usual model, but case design is almost rectangular.

On the last weekend my books have been available on store in Japan.
But the plan to sell on an international market is piled up. ~:(
Do anyone knows which store or site is suited to sell?
Please let me know.

Why not sell to the community on this site?
For the western hemisphere ebay is definitely the best place.

Of course I can sell anyone on this community directly.
But you know the international shipping cost is quite high.
So that the publisher looking for the international agency could order mass dealing.
Now the publisher is asking to conclude the business negotiations with some agency.
But we don't know much about western market.
Therefore I want to know where you have bought any books in your country.

regards,
